Making everything , from tiny, silly things to bigger projects are my passion in life.
I’ve recently added a camera to my toolbox and hope to make videos that are entertaining most of all, that can possibly teach you something you didn’t know before watching, and lastly, I hope to inspire at least a few people around the world to make something they want, not simply buy it.
You’d be surprised what you can DIY, even with a few basic tools and by spending barely anything. The end result will be 90% useful, 10% crappy but 100% satisfying!

When I found out that Monster Megalodon Sharks used to swim where I live today, I felt compelled to get my hands on the only thing that remains of them. Their fossilised giant teeth. And since it did not come with a display I decided to make one. It's a simple woodworking project, but I hope it can I inspire you.

Little dangerous, cutting the triangle on a bandsaw.i would have made a jig so no Accident happens.remember bandsaw blades push down.
@@mattbarton362 hej matt, good point, I tend to only make jigs when I have to make a bunch of things. This video was helping a neighbor with some prototypes. Usually I’m pretty confident with the bandsaw and only freak out around the tablesaw and the chopsaw. Both of those finger-eatinf witches have tried and there I keep a good distance and lots of jigs/pushsticks etc…
Where is noise test, before and after? 🤔🤷♂️👂
Replace ptojector crappy fans with Noctua ones. 😉🤓
This is amazing! I'm going to make these for my son and nephew.
I can’t find alluminium profiles
Have you tried googling for flightcase parts in your area. So far Most countries seem to have resellers of Adam Hall or Easycase parts.
I made one of these for my son in 2008. But I forgot to add a brake so, when I turned on the drill and waved goodbye, it was for good. Talk about regrets.
What Size fan did you use ? Any particularly quiet brand or type? Using the projector USB for power is genius
Its a NOCTUA pc fan, those are very silent. 12centimeters in diameter
Just one fan? Don't you need intake and outtake?
The fan on the outtake faces out, which creates a lower pressure inside the box. The fan in the projector itself blows out into the box. And since you have lower pressure in the box . The outside fresh air on the intake side gets sucked in. (Or pushes itself in, depending on if you look at it as a physicist or a vacuum salesman:)

Merci pieter, mijn brein lag stil :)

Zeer zekerz!!
Vive le vélo!
I love how you used all the stuff you just had lying around. Shows how far you can get with some creativity. Good job!
I was looking at other videos on how to make a flight case and this is the best advice yet, made it look easy and described it perfectly, here i go and try it for myself, thankyou.
Thanks George! And best of luck with the build!
finally ;-) heel mooi projectje!
Nice! Having a kid who is obsessively interested in sharks and dinosaurs, I am well aware of the Magalodon and agree that it was a fascinating animal deserving a plaque!
Tof projectje. Wel toevallig dat Stern net hun Jaws flipperkast heeft aangekondigd
The brass is definitely a better look. And why have I never thought of putting masking tape on the blade of a square? Brilliant idea!
Thanks andy! Mostly the tape is to keep the sides from getting all the pencil dust on it and therefor marking everything it touches. But sometimes its handy as fuck to use as a story-stick to transfer marks from A to B.
Mooi, en 'welkom terug' :)
Merci kris!!
I'm glad to see you again! Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! I got a few videos in the bag that need editing and there comin’ here soon. I had a hectic year workwise and therefore tapped out for a while from YT. But I’m back :)
Nice little project! Love the vibe
Leuk! Weer eens een video. Lang geleden!

Jep, da’s de reden voor PLANK. My stand in :) vanaf nu mag Plank mijn intro’s doen ):
That shop is huuuge. Even by American standards. Mine (near Zurich) is a garage that can't even fit a car :(
Good thing I don’t do American standards:) it’s a place I rent here in Belgium. I had a tiny gardenhouse first, then a tiny garage and when that was too small I found this shop. I found out that, once I got a bigger shop, bigger projects started coming in, so I can afford to keep the lights on in here :)
@@ProjectsandThings yeah I'm unemployed at the moment (partly by choice), and would love to build some tables to help with rent but the thought of dealing with 2m boards makes me hesitate. I do somehow have an SCM combo slider, bandsaw, and dust collector in there though, so I should make something soon!
Thanks for the lesson in making cases. can you provide the source of materials that you discussed? also at 8:57 in the video i saw that a pop rivet wasn't seated well, how do you correct for that if it happens, do you use plyers or a hammer to correct a pop rivet that didn't go in all the way?
Hi Mike, you’re welcome! For me here locally in Belgium, the supplier is called flightcaseBrico. The best option is to google around for “flightcase parts” or “easy case parts” those are the lighter and thinner materials for smaller cases. Like 7mm plastic sheets and plastic easy-case corners for example. For the rivet I usually drill it out and re-do it if I notice the bad seating (sometimes I clearly miss it) i have been able to fix one or two with the gas type pliers. But quite often they are in spots that are too hard to reach so I end up just redoing it. Hope that helps sir!
Thank you for your response!
Thanks, you helped me protect my gear...
You’re very welcome Melissa, did you make the same or a different design? Just curious:)
@@ProjectsandThingsI still have to make it. I went "on the road" as test this weekend and found me needing a properly sized flight case for two synthesizers and a mixer. I bought a disco bar box, but it takes two people to lift it...when empty. Too big, too heavy. 🙂
@@melissarainchild I found that 4 small flightscases for my gear works best. I can carry each case solo and do not need a van to transport my videogear to jobs. If and when I add to the collection of mixers and screens I’ll add another “small” case to the stack :) good luck with the build. If you get round to making them I’d love to see a picture of the final result. My email is ok the contact page of the channel. YT won’t allow me to write it here.
Хуево, когда есть неплохой инструмент, а руки из жопы растут.
Hello, could you please repeat the measurment of the big and apart the small planks? I cannot understand it with the mask. Thanks and regards
Sure thing. The short planks that go horizontally are 28cm and the long ones are 60 cm.
Aqui e Brasil adorei sua ideia adorei gratidão por abrir nossa mentes pós sou um robista
Very nice, bravo. Can you tel me what is that wheel what's in the drill, that pushes to the cart wheel. Is it sone kind of grinding tool?
Thank you, the wheel is called a wire wheel. You have them in metal, brass . Usually you use these to scrape paint off.
Wowww.. So nice 🥰
agh that backdoor flip made me insane, ocd kick in already
Hehe. Hopefully the insanity is not permanent :) I have other videos that feature less mistakes if it helps :)
I have never seen this done in person.
Making flightcases you mean? Or something else? :)
Brilliant project. What make is the stove?
Thank you very much Nicola. The brand is called Harvia. Its finnish I believe
As un Upgrade idea You culd use a PatchPanel with weather Proof Connector so you dont need to Cut a Big Opening in the back
true, I have thought about doing exactly that. But since building the case with hilariously badly cut out doors, I'm using the space behind the screens to stash Headphones and headsets that did not fit anywhere else. But your tip is very valid, If I build another case like this I will for sure go with a patch panel.
Not worried about you child getting fat?
Hahahhaa. It’s never crossed my mind sir :) at the moment he’s 7 and skinny as can be
Wow
wow job the best !!!1
Hi! The later on the top, which was applied with a brush, is that epoxy too?
Why no sound demo after all the work?
Knap! Ik heb een nieuw favoriet kanaal gevonden. 😊
Merci Gert. Het heeft ff stil Gelegen, maar de nieuwe films zijn gedraaid. Nu nog monteren en het kan het interweb op!
Any know any place they custom case
did he fuck up the back ?
He did Jermaine, he did.
Is there a plastic alternative to aluminum rail?
I do not know James. You could check with the people at Adam Hall. They make tons of flightcase parts for DIY
This is an awesome entry-level video! Quality is phenomenal! Thank you for making this
thank you graham, and you are very welcome! I have a bunch of other videos about making things, but only one on flightcases, allthough I love building them for all kinds of kit, I figured one video was enough. Have a great day sir!
Are the rivits the ribbed ones that grip the wood as it's pulled??
I can’t find a link for the 90 degree edges with slots for the wood. Can you provide?
UA-cam wont allow links to be posted. But if you google for “casemaker profile” or “casemaker extrusion” you’ll find these. Adam Hall brand sells them all around the world .
10:30 - You kinda' butchered those cuts for the door !!!
Yes sir I did :) it’s the only part of this built that I f**ked up :)
8:57 Oops!
Hahha, indeed. Keen eye sir. I guess I hammered that flat afterwards:)
@@ProjectsandThings LOL. All's well that ends well. I doubt it compromised anything structurally. I just know enough to hate, hate, hate whenever that happens.
That's a really nice idea for screens, having them face each other like that... But the back door is incredibly ugly, I couldn't use that, that would bother me so much :D You should have also used the aluminium extrusions for that or there are even pre-made doors for flight cases, like Adam Hall 87600/87601/87602, that you just rivet in... I'll probably build something similar for myself, as I can never have enough screens :D
Thank you. I’ve learned that those doorflaps exist, since building the cases. But now I love my janky back-door solution even more. I think that if they would function poorly, that would bother people way more during use then the looks. But to each their own :) thank you for the tip about Adam Hall!
A flight case should be able to be transported in the rain though, and now yours can't.
Wow this is incredibly expensive just the material to bulid half the frame not including the board and hardware is already 178 bucks and to buy the laminated board is 248 dollars for 8x4x18mm. Not cheap and easy as this video is portraying
